You fill in an online application form and then post in (to PAC) other supporting documentation in hard copy format.

Yes. The first page of the application form, with the exception of entering a student number, must be filled in. After this point your application can be saved at any time. Thereafter, to complete your application you have already saved, go to the “My Account” section of the online application system.
Please look at sample application form in Q1 above to see what you are likely to be asked during the application process.

PHN applicants are allowed one programme choice (Public Health Nursing) and three institution choices (which should be preference-ranked). If you want to apply for another postgraduate programme within PAC, you must apply via PAC to the institution of your choice. This will necessitate another separate application fee.

In addition to a credit Card, payments by Visa and Laser, there is also the option to send payment by Postal Order or Bank Draft, payable to Postgraduate Applications Centre, with an extra processing fee of €5. Therefore, the total cost of a non-Credit Card payment is €55 We do not accept personal cheques

However, please note that your application will not be processed until the date the Postgraduate Applications Centre receive your application fee payment (please ensure you secure a certificate of postage when posting your application fee). Payments by Postal Order and Bank Draft should be made immediately after submitting your online application. Paying at a later date is possible, by a debit or credit card costing €50.00 or by bank draft costing €55.

Applicants using webmail email addresses, please note if you have the high junk mail filtering option in your email account, emails from the Postgraduate Applications Centre, the HSE and the other Institutions may be flagged as Junk. You will need to either reduce the Junk mail filter or else add the Postgraduate Applications Centre (info@pac.ie) the HSE (hse.ie), UCC (ucc.ie), UCD (ucd.ie) and NUI Galway (nuigalway.ie) to your safe senders lists. If you are still not getting emails, then you should contact the Postgraduate Applications Centre directly at 091-549260.

These documents must be submitted by post to the Postgraduate Applications Centre with your Postgraduate Application Number.

1. IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Certificate (if applicable). Applicants whose first language or primary language of expression is not English must provide evidence that their English language ability meets the required standard for admission. The minimum required score is 7.0 on the IELTS assessment test. The test must have been completed in the last two years. For details of these English Language Proficiency Tests, see http://www.ielts.org/. An A4 (or equivalent) size copy of the IELTS document must be sent by post to the Postgraduate Applications Centre with your Postgraduate Application Number. The original document should not be sent as it will not be returned by PAC.
2. Academic Transcript or APEL document
   An academic transcript is a document from a college or university showing final marks achieved and awarded. Candidates must demonstrate that they have undertaken a programme of study at NQF, academic level 8. The academic transcript provided will be used as evidence to demonstrate this, which should be for the highest level award. If you do not hold a level 8 qualification (honours degree or higher diploma level 8) or you are unsure if your academic qualification is at level 8 or equivalent, see http://www.nqai.ie or http://www.nfq.ie, you must complete and submit an Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) Document

Please note that there will be additional documents required at interview stage for candidates who are invited for interview.

These documents must be submitted by post to the Postgraduate Applications Centre with your Postgraduate Application Number.

You must read and accept the content of the General Declaration and if you wish you can download the declaration for your own information. Do not post this declaration to Postgraduate Applications Centre.

All supplementary forms and supporting documents must be received by PAC no later than 5.00pm Friday 8th June 2012. If these are not received by this date, your application will be deemed incomplete and it will not be considered further.

No, you must complete an online application. You will need a working email address to use this facility as all correspondence with regard to your application will be communicated to you by email. If you do not have access to a personal computer or at work, maybe try a relative or a friend. Internet facilities should also be available at your local library or at an Internet cafe.

Ensure that you have www.pac.ie set up as a trusted site on your internet browser. See 'Help' on your browser for instructions on how to do this. Please note that if you are using Netscape you may also need to set Internet Explorer as your rendering engine.

You will receive an email alert from the Postgraduate Applications Centre to check your application status (on the “My Account” section of the online application system). It is vital that you give the correct email address on your online application and that your email account is working. It is also important that you check your email regularly.

After you have submitted your application fee payment details on the online application system, you must print the Application Receipt. The Application Receipt page will include your PAC application Number. There is also a facility on the My Account page to view your PAC application(s).
